TAKING A TANDEM FLIGHT
Our tandem hang gliding flights are done from an airfield called Aviators Paradise situated
close to Hartebeespoort Dam. The airfield overlooks the Magaliesburg mountain range.
Our tandem hang gliding equipment is top of the range, and our tandem pilots are highly
experienced.
Lets take a look at what you can expect when you book yourself on a Tandem Flight.
Firstly you will notice that we do not take off from a mountain, instead we are pulled up into the
air by a specially purpose built microlight. Our tandem hang gliders are fitted with wheels to
make the take off and landings easy and safe, the microlight will tow the tandem hang glider
up to an altitude of 2000 feet where the tandem pilot will release from the tow line and glide
freely back down to the airfield. The flight usually lasts between 20 and 25 minutes.
